Excellent and expressive!
Wow, what a beautifully expressive instrument that is! Different from string soloists, but retaining their expressiveness and character to a degree while adding nuances of other colours and layers to it.

In orchestral compositions I tend to use gongs or long crashes for pronounced fermatas. The sounds from the mixing bowl are a very welcome alteration to that all–too–familiar sound of a gong or crash cymbal. It's a really original instrument which offers many more application scenarios than said fermatas.
