John Bunge
John Bunge is a composer and instrumentalist living in Ithaca, New York. His main instruments are banjo, especially 4-string plectrum and 5-string clawhammer, and guitar, especially acoustic. He is the banjo player for old/new-time group Jasperoo. He has a BA in music composition and theory from Macalester College. He is a veteran of the late '70's/early '80's Minneapolis New Wave scene, where he led The Mutuals. He is the author of "Music of Scott Joplin on the Banjo" transcriptions; "Open String Chords for Plectrum Banjo"; and "Open Chord Advantage" for guitar, publ. Hal Leonard.
