Living is Motion
It was exciting to be a part of this as it developed, but the great bit was getting it under my fingers to write a demo. Owen has done something pretty clever—he's given you a living animal, but also a bit of leash to work with.
You'll find yourself honouring the fact that this instrument shifts and dodges as you write and this is something I tried to test a bit when I wrote with it. If I wrote really simply and as if that constant digital breathing was disabled, what would happen?
The answer is in the demo: a deceptively active undercurrent to even the simplest ideas. That's something you'd have to do a good bit of annoying automation to achieve and it still wouldn't quite feel as seamless.
