The story
During my latest visit to the US, I was in Salt Lake City to meet my fellow composer mate Joshua, who offered to take me on a hike on the mountains surrounding the city. It was hard going up, particular after 3 years of physical inactivity due to the various lockdowns, etc, but what presented itself to my eyes was absolutely worth the effort: a tranquil, crystal-clear mountain lake. Proceeding along the shoreline we reached a small waterfall that feeds the lake and of course I pulled out my Zoom H1n and recorded a good amount of the sound of the water. Some birdsong too managed to make it into the recording, so look out for unexpected surprises if you press down the keys long enough!

A seriously powerful tool
I'm working on an experimental nature documentary right now and this is such a useful tool for creating transitions and ambiences. Having all of the controls easily accessed within the instrument helps you get a great sound in seconds. Throw some reverb before a distortion unit, or granular delays, and you have a great wash of sound. The developer tamed the original sound just enough to maintain the character but leave room for much evolution. Thank you!
