I created this instrument using a sample from my washing machine. I lightly processed it in Ableton Live, then used David Hilowitz’s “Decent Sampler” to turn that sample into a virtual instrument!

Tip: The more reverb you add, the less it sounds like a washing machine 🙂
Tip: Try turning the release way down and using the low notes as percussive elements.
