Vignettes is a new library concept that I will be exploring in the new year. The idea was to create a musical palette , a little sound world , giving a glimpse into a scene that your music would eventually envelop. There will be many styles and genres featured , this one being in the cinematic folk landscape. I featured a baritone banjo, fiddle plucks and a wide stereo acoustic guitar . I also included three pads, a granular fiddle pad, a pedal steel and sine wave, and a pump organ.

It’s a very simple instrument yet, there are many combinations of instruments that can be used together.
The hope is that it’s a quick way to get started and find some inspiration.

I sampled an old baritone banjo, two acoustic guitars (that I panned the hard left and right), plucked an antique fiddle. I also created a granular fiddle pad, a pump organ pad and a lap steel combined with a sine wave . I recorded everything in my studio, in Pro Tools, with a Telefunken CU-29 , a Shure SM 57 and a Neve 1073.
