The story
The Golden Gate Bridge is constantly under construction for upgrades and maintenance, most of which go unnoticed by me and the other San Franciscans. But a recent upgrade to the guard rails, meant to minimize air-drag, had an unexpectedly musical side effect.
When the wind pouring through the narrow bay inlet rises to about 30 miles per hour, the whole two-mile bridge resonates with an eerie call so loud it can be heard throughout the whole city and as far as Berkley. The guard rails’ engineers had inadvertently created the largest instrument in the world.
The bridge is also home to a number of fog horns—the essential sound of a childhood spent mostly in the fog. The reliable toll of the fog horn woke me up almost every morning for the first 19 years of my life. It’s a sound every San Franciscan knows.
The Bridge is a library of instruments from sounds around the bay. It includes the singing of the Golden Gate Bridge, the fog horn, a small exhibit at the end of a jetty in the Marina harbor called the Wave Organ, and other San Francisco sounds.

Everything ingenious is simple
An excellent minimalistic tool that will complement...
Straight from heaven!
This Kontakt instrument leaves me speechless. The sounds are so clean, yet very powerful and organic, they breath life as atmosphere into any track. The sound really is amazing.
The whole theme around the bridge is also so cool. As for the GUI, you could say it is too simple. But I think it's great, it may only have one knob, but you really don't need more, it already sounds incredible out of the box!
The only thing that disapointed me about this whole library is the fact that it only has 4 patches. I would love to see more like this!
An experience to explore and get inspired by
For the incredibly small size of just 47MB, you get 4 completely different patches that are based on the San Franscisco bridge. From birds to passing cars and horns, this is a very nice collection and an excellent execution when it comes to a musical instrument.
I will let you explore the sounds yourself, because they are totally worth it to experience. Just be sure to use the modwheel! In short, I'll say that this download is worth it even if you consider just the "Singing" patch. It is just lovely.
It would have been great if the patches were just in one but with different sliders so you can mix and match them however you want, but you can always do that as a multi-instrument anyway.
Lonely, ambient and atmospheric
Thank you for these. To me they really emphasis that loneliness you can get sometimes when standing on a bridge. You're not connected to one side or the other just you and this structure holding you there between the two. The isolation can be wonderful.
Just excellent sounds, really appreciate your work.4 stars almost eveywhere?
I can't explain why I like these sounds.
But I like them. Ambiance, distance, textures....
Excellent work!
