The story
The Spieluhr was a gift for easter from some good friends. After playing the included demo note sheet with it, I fell in love with the sound of the instrument and decided to sample it.
The main reason for this was the limited range and number of notes. I wanted it to be more versatile and also experiment with the sound in order to actually use it in pieces.
Also I thought this might be a good opportunity to give something back to the community and all the people involved in creating those great libraries. And a special thanks of course to Christian Henson for starting Spitfire Audio and Pianobook.

A nice and real sounding music box
Even though it's very quiet, this is a very well nicely sampled music box, with realism in mind. Besides the FX1 knob that greatly distorts the sound, this music box offers a very down-to-earth sound that won't turn heads but will sound just right. I also love the take on the default pianobook design template. This is what the actual template should be!
really nice but others i prefer
This is a really nice little music box. Its really well recorded, clear sounding, and it has all those characteristic squeaks and noises of the music box which give it alot of realism and character. For me personally there are other music boxes on pianobook that i just find to be more interesting and dynamic but thats nothing against this instrument. Its still sounds really great on its own.
Nice sounding Music box
This is a sweet sounding music box and well recorded. I felt the need to increase the responsiveness to velocity as there wasn't enough change to differing velocities for my taste. YMMV. Even so, it's a great addition to the PB community, and a worthy download.
