The story
I don’t really know why this Kontakt library happened, other than lately I’ve been grabbing my recorder a lot to layer in chords and trills into my organic pads and orchestral homegrown textures during writing. There isn’t really a good way for me to program trills that will always work with this single patch (you would need to easily select semitone or whole tone on a per-note basis), so I opted for some round-robiny pads that display aggression in direct proportionality to the velocity provided.
So that’s basically what this is, sort of like my rowdy brass instrument but with a little more stereo info and variety in the energy of the instrument.

Very simple library of recorder
I tend to download all the choir related library. This has a very simple tone of recorder. I think it would be nice for people looking for a straight sound of recorder.
Tuning issues but could work in ambient contexts
These sounds in their dry form are honestly pretty unusable for me, although others may feel differently. Apart from recorders already not sounding that cool to begin with, theres alot of intonation issues which i feel make it sound really amateurish. I feel there could be alot of potential here using this as ambient effects though. It can actually sound really cool and emotional to have things drift out of tune like this as long as thier not that upfront or in your face. I think in a sparce arrangement this could add so much interest and emotion if used correctly.
Interesting Recorders
This library is an interesting concept, but is slightly hobbled by some intonation and tone issues as well as some Kontakt programming issues inconsistent looping. If you're looking for a classical recorder sound to play authentic renaissance music ala Sarah Jeffrey, this probably isn't for you. None of that makes this sample pack unusable, though. it has a lot of character, the the inclusion of different samples at different volume levels is a nice touch. Probably useful in certain circumstances.
Needs a little work...
As with all recorder libraries, they are really difficult to do well. This instrument needs some substantial retuning on the notes and potentially more processing options for different sounds. There aren't any controls at the moment, so what you hear out of the box is about all that you get.
Cute but could shine with a little more work
There are some minor issues regarding this instrument which I think it may holding it back, such as the pitches between the "voices" not being identical in some keys.
In some keys it appears on higher velocities while being ok in the lower ones, and in other keys it's the opposite, which makes it really confusing if you are either programming or performing. The lower pitches are very low in volume which can be hard to deal with, and the very high pitches suffer from the opposite problem - too high, and very sharp.
One unique feature I found is that the pitch-bend keeps one voice on the current pitch but only manages to shift one. Very interesting!
