The story
RainDrop Guitar C40 is my first attempt on sampling an instrument.
a very basic guitar, had bought it long time back
sampled in 5th starting from E1 TO G#3
recorded via U87 passing through ssl alpha
dry samples were as intresting as I would like ot to be
hence tried few things and ended bny with a convolution reverb-rain sample as IR and it was magical.
For dry sample you can just bypass the insert

Probably my favorite Guitar on PB!
It's difficult to articulate exactly what I love so much about this sound, but it's an absolute favorite for me. I think it has to do with how this sound inspires me to play. It might also be that some times, it almost sounds like there's a rhodes piano layered with the guitar, and that works well for me as a keyboard player. I normally don't like sounds which have reverb I can't turn down unless I'm also being provided with a dry version. For some reason, that doesn't bother me at all with this sound. This sound just seems to hit that magical combination for me. download it and noodle a little.... you won't be disappointed!
As a guitarist im kind of impressed
I still kind the attack of the notes and articulation of these notes to be pretty keyboard like (like i do with 99.9999 percent of guitar libraries), but theres also something really organic, sweet and warm about this instrument. I think some samples sound more real than others. I think the biggest problem is that they kind of abruptly start like a piano. If you had captured the finger or pick scraping the string and that little bit of friction that happens before the tone is produced i think this would be really realistic. Also the more round robins and dynamic layers the better with instruments like this. I think guitar is the hardest instrument to sample realistically. Although as a guitarist i dont find this realistic enough to use, i think you were super close and would love to see you try again in the future
What a lovely sound!
This instrument offers a different take of a guitar, and its name matches well what it can do. The velocity setting favor more of a medium to heavy playstyle. I'd like the GUI to let me adjust the Reverb a bit because I personally feel it can built up more than I'd like. An attack knob would also be very useful, but it's favors more of a lead-like playing and less of an ambient one. I'm sure most users will have big fun with it!
