The story

This is the Spieluhr of my daughter, sampled with an AKG C 3000 in my home studio. It’s my first Kontakt instrument. I used some noise which appeared while turning the small handle as release samples and scripted some controls for sustains, release samples and reverb. Hope you like it. Best regards from Berlin, Peter

ps. i uploaded v2 on 2022-06-20. Changelog:
– now the paths are relative
– the release samples are included
– the zone-mapping is improved

  • Some noise reduction would make it shine!

I think this is one of the best sounding music-box style sounds here in Pianobook. It has a very nice and well defined character, and it's sampled in a way that makes it slightly different and more fun to play than others. The only problem is that there is some white noise that might be audible in some cases, so with some proper noise reduction it would become simply perfect.

  • Really nice music box but noisy

This sample instrument is definitely on the noiser side but depending on your application this might not be an issue. This music box sounds really well recorded and has all the characteristic creaks and noises that give it alot of character. Some basic noise reduction would definitely help this out alot but the sample maker doesn't have RX. It would be cool if DAWS came with this stock

  • A lovely, innocent-sounding music box

This is a lovely music box, well sampled, and highly playable. It does have some noise in the samples as the author indicates, but in a musical context, it doesn't seem too bad. Unfortunately, the Kontakt instrument was saved with absolute sample paths, so you'll need to point it towards the samples. Looking at the mapping window, you can see that a crazy amount of work went into laying out these samples. It's like a jigsaw puzzle. The effort and care show through in how playable and musically useful this sample pack is.
