The story
Hi! I am Alex Goroshko, composer and founder of Soul Samples company!
We know that every musical instrument is alive and unique with own voice and soul. Our goal is to capture that natural sound and expand functionality of the real instruments in virtual format.
Ocarina is our first sample library for KONTAKT!
Instrument has a magical soft, soothing and slightly hissing sound. It сould be easily used as solo or mixed with other instruments in numbers of different music genres.
PLEASE NOTICE: this is a free trial version, contains only Sustain and Staccato articulations (5 notes inside each one).
Ocarina library (full version) has 8 articulations, 4 round robbins, 3 dynamic layers, close and room mics, ADSR, 3 spatial effects, HP and LP filters, tuning section, dynamic and noise controls.
Although the functionality is quite large, all the controls are arranged by sections, it allows you to get quick access to each element, so you can quickly shape the sound you want, without the use of additional tools for sound processing.
Add this rare instrument to collection and bring soul to your music.

Good sound not useful
As everyone said this feels like a free trial you might download on a plugin website. I think the goal of piano book is to share useful instruments with character. While the sound of this ocarina is airy and well sampled. You only have a few notes to play with so again, this feels like a free sample from a plugin website for you to just get an idea for how the plugin sounds, not a usable instrument for pianobook. The GUI is pretty cool looking an offers a lot of control but i would have preferred a more organic design instead of this one which looks like a synth design or something.
This is not even a demo...
This is is a very restricted demo library with the intentions of a leading you to buy the full instrument, which is really OK in some cases, but this one is VERY limited. I was blown away by the GUI design and the amount of options displayed on it, but something was wrong. I could only play the notes C5-E5 on the sustain articulation, and that's it. Everything else is inactive. I am not sure what you can do with just those 5 notes...
Nice sound but very limited
The sound is nice, but I think only three keys are assigned? I found it very difficult to use for a composition. GUI looks nice!
Fairly unusable
After a fair bit of fiddling around, I was able to get some sounds out of it, but the interface is pretty buggy. At times a key would trigger the sound and at other times the articulation, but not the sound. Hope to see this library get a remake as there is potential.
Lovely sound but useless
I love the idea that samplists who are looking to go pro might share scaled down products here in order to gain some customers. I think it's a neat business model and a way that the companies and the community can benefit. However, it seems to me that there should be a better way to accomplish those goals than this. An instrument with 5 chromatic pitches available in two articulations isn't even as useful as an audio demo, IMHO. Providing one complete articulation seems like a much better compromise. It's not really worth downloading this, regardless of whether you're planning to buy this library. I'm sorry to say it's not worth the hard drive space.
