The story

My brother gave me a beautiful kalimba for Christmas. Of course, the first thing that came to my mind was to sample it. Said and done! I sampled the 10 tone kalimba with up to 6 velocity layers and stretched the samples to get over two octaves. In addition to the sampled kalimba, I came up with an arpeggiator engine to create inspirational and atmospheric patterns.

“kalim baba” works in Kontakt 6.7.1+.

Have fun with the instrument ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Oh man!

Oh man! This is the Holy Grail! I tried a lot of instruments last time, but this is absolutely genius... Perfect sounds just come out from this magic box. It will be great for my documentary tracks... Many thanks.

  • Excellent!

Great sound, really great interface, great choices on effects... everything is well thought out.

I'm having one issue with it - when it starts up, Arp Mode is always enabled regardless of the state it was in when I close it (saved or unsaved). I assigned the Mod wheel to Normal Mode and automated this parameter, and that is an effective workaround, but it would be nice to have it start up Arp Mode / Normal Mode from its last saved state.
