The story

I was getting rid of things on Facebook Marketplace when a Bontempi Minstrel Gamma appeared for a fiver. My young son desperately wanted a keyboard of his own and I thought it might have some lofi character worth sampling.

He loved the Christmas present but before he could break it I thought I’d sample the best sounds. Recorded through the inbuilt speaker for authenticity, with a t.bone 1100 (an unbelievable large diaphragm condenser considering the cost).

Features:

* 5 sounds: Organ, Brass, Piano, Space and Vibes
* Finger chords for your left hand (major only)
* Optional extra keyboard clacking
* Basic FX

I hope this instrument brings you the good times you deserve (and the name of this instrument promises). And I hope it’s not being haunted by the ghost of Maureen Sowerbutts.

  • It's a keeper.

    This offers some usable retro sounds with enough built-in control to shape what you need.
