The story

I wanted to make Sample Instruments but i couldn’t get past the recording stage before the daunting idea of sorting through and mapping all the samples in EXS24 stopped me in my tracks. I needed something fun and stupid to sample which wouldn’t matter if it sounded rubbish because i wouldn’t have spent very long making it in the first place. Thus the humble Barrs Cream Soda bottle was discovered.

  • Ghostly Wispers

Im always so amazed when someone takes a soundsource like this and turns it into something completely unique. I named this ghostly whispers in my folder because thats what immediately jumped out at me when i started playing this. It would work great for horror and drama but i also thing it would be great in a beautiful context too, so its very versatile. One issue i have is that the samples speed up as you get higher on the keyboard. So the lows wound amazing, slow motion, fat and trippy but the highs (while they still sound amazing) dont last for aw long as i would like. The overall tone of this is really great too because even in the highs it still feels pretty mellow and not piercing

  • Ethereal pads

This is the second pack I've tested that has been made with a disposable bottle and the truth is that the sound quality in both is more than decent. It is surprising that with such a common element you can get such a result.

I would have liked the samples to be infinite. The high notes are very short, making it a bit difficult to use them with the lower notes.

  • Ocean Wave Pad Sound

Imagine an ocean wave. Layered with some heavenly sounding pads. That's what the Cream Soda Atmos Pad reminds me of. Great sound that could also work well layered with strings. Enjoy!

  • Deep subby atmos

Super nice texture, proper sampling and a very nice idea overall. I love the incredibely DEEP lows of this, but the highs are not bad at all. I just wish they lasted just a little longer!

  • Rides that line between atmospheric noise and dreamy pad

What you get is an extremely breathy pad sound that has a slight swirly or rather wavy like quality to it. It's the sort of thing you'd find in the atmosphere section of Omnisphere. But that doesn't mean you should discount it. This is a great library!
