Kontact UPDATE by Darren J Prescott
“My initial aim was to convert Richard’s lovely Church Steinway from EXS format to Kontakt 5.8. After using Kontakt’s built-in format converter I felt the piano samples could do with a bit of spit and polish. So I set about carefully removing any audible noise including extraneous clicks and knocks.
I then designed a custom Kontakt interface. The background image was adapted from the photo supplied by Richard of the Steinway.
Features of the Kontakt Version:-
-Timbral Shift: This detunes the pitch of the samples in semitone intervals while simultaneously transposing the MIDI input by the same amount but inversely. This has the effect of altering the timbre in interesting ways.
-Right Arrow: Samples play normally (forwards).
-Left Arrow: Samples play in reverse with adjusted end point so they begin quicker.
-Bi-directional Arrow: Samples play both forwards and in reverse.
Additional Effects:
-Convolution Reverb: Two second “Entry Hall 1″ convolution reverb from Kontakt 5.
-Tremolo: Slow LFO to simulate a tremolo effect.
-Distortion: Moderate Skreamer built-in effect from Kontakt 5.
-Brightness: Subtle EQ to brighten the sound a little.”

Very nice edit of the original!
The Timbral Shift parameter makes this piano quite versatile. Thank you very much!
