While getting my old drum kit out to set up after almost 20 years I was reminded that one of my splash cymbals was broken. Upon tapping the outer ring of the broken area I found that it made a gong-like sound. So, I had to see what I could make of that.

I think I got some nice sounds from it, and some strange ones as well by dragging my recorder microphone around the cymbal. Very haunting and unnerving.

Maybe you can find these sounds useful. I think I will.
