The story

Kinda boring yet incredibly useful synth sounds. I initially planned on this being a bass only synth instrument, but opening up the filter proved to be way too much fun! I sampled tweaked sine, square and triangle waves from my Novation Peak, Korg MS-20, Roland JU-06 and Behringer D.

  • NO boring, highly customizable bass!

It has a basic bass sound, but for a good reason. It is highly customizable and can be turned into your needs. The interface is as good as any other Jon library. I also like the design. A user-friendly and easy-to-use instrument.

  • I use this sound almost every day.

The perfect fat sine-inspired subtle bass synth, it fits perfectly under whatever you are writing. I wish I could give it more stars for inspiration and character, but the truth is this synth does what we wish all bassists would do: it stays out of the way of everyone else! It does not draw attention to itself, and it makes everyone sound better around it! This synth has become my secret weapon! 100% recomend!

  • Great Bass, But Also Great Synth!

What I've found interesting is using this sound as a synth instead of a bass. It also works great as a bass sound. So, with that, you have a great all around synth sound, that might find a place in your DAW template. Especially if you add some distortion and other fx to it. Enjoy!

  • It's like 101 or Mini bass

I've been using this library for a long time, and it's one of those things where you feel it more than hear it. I can't say how many times I've recommended it to my writers and told them to layer it under their usually anemic bass sound to beef it up. I almost never use this as my main bass, but I often add it in an octave below to add the depth and girth whatever sound Im using lacks. It's not a glamorous library, and most people will never notice it's there in a mix, but they'd certainly notice if it wasn't there! Awesome work as usual from Jon!

  • This is what PianoBook is for...

Not everyone will have a 3 oscillator hardware synth in their studio. Some may not have much in the way of soft-synths libraries. Which is why PB is so amazing, because its libraries like this that offer up those kinds of sounds to people who otherwise may not have them. This is a brilliant bass synth that will cover a lot of ground in filmic music. But as it can be played in poly mode you can make some brilliant pad sounds from it as well. The GUI has been well thought out and includes everything you need to mould the sound. Yes its simple, but brilliantly so, and there will be plenty of musicians out there, myself included, who will find a lot of use for this!
