A friend from my church loaned me an instrument from her late father’s collection not too long ago. He found numerous musical instruments from all around the world, including this one: a wooden bass ocarina. She permitted me to play it, and the second I played my first note I was astonished at the richness of its deep tone.

I had no other choice but to sample and preserve this sound as a virtual instrument!

This time, I decided to step back from Kontakt and return to the first sampler I ever used: Logic’s EXS24. It’s a powerful and very user-friendly sampler which has been my go-to for quite some time. I will eventually return to Kontakt and try to familiarize myself with all it can do, I promise. Until then, enjoy this ocarina! 😁
