The story
The protestant church of Unterhaus in Carinthia / Austria has a small but impressive sounding organ. It was built in 1903 as “Opus 4” of Johann Kuhler from “St. Leonhard im Loibenthale”. The organ has one manual with 7 stops and two bass stops for the pedal. After world war II the confiscated metal pipes had to be replaced and in the nineties the entire instrument was renovated. Since then it gets reviewed and tuned regularly by the active parish.
I use to spend my holidays near Unterhaus where my parents in law live. One year ago I installed reaper and fell into making music with my computer. It’s been amazing to find out how many people provide samples, videos and pieces of music for free to enable others to get inspired. (Special thanks to Jonas Krug for the inspiration I got from his Eiersheimer Orgel on pianobook.) This is my first attempt to sample an instrument by myself and I want to give back to the community with it.
So please enjoy the sound of the organ in Unterhaus.
