The story

In 2020, my father was able to retire from his career in law enforcement. Found with an abundance of free time, he dove back into his wood working hobbies. That same year, he gifted me with a beautiful, hand made padauk wood tongue drum! I don’t have the time to play it as much as it deserves, so I decided to immortalize his work through a Decent Sampler instrument.

The instrument was sampled (in my closet no less) across 4 notes (G3, A4, D4, D5) along with a percussive hit, including 4 round robins for each. Used an Audio Technica AT2020 condenser mic as well as the onboard x/y mics of my Zoom H4N Pro. Controls for tone, reverb, attack and release have been included as well.

I hope you enjoy it!
